RLR Yachting team with Coast is Clear environmental NGO after our beach clean up at Baħar iċ-Ċagħaq

In late 2023 RLR officially joined forces with local environmental NGO Coast is Clear as a title sponsor as part of a two year commitment to regular beach clean ups and other community environmental activities.

Our first beach clean of 2024 took place in early February and saw the RLR team together with some of the team from JRS Shipping working to clean a section of the coastline around Pembroke seafront. An entire truckload of ocean plastic was collected in the space of a couple of hours – including a refrigerator and a life ring from a ship.

As a business that is built around the sea it feels important to us that we take time to do these clean-ups regularly to help in a small way to give back to the environment that we love so much.

Our intention with the collaboration with Coast is Clear is to make beach clean-ups and other environmental projects (like tree planting, watch this space for more on this soon!) an act of service to our Maltese community as well as a way to bring our team together outside of work, doing something that really makes you feel good about yourself. The next clean up is taking place in April and we can’t wait to get back out there again.

Thank you to the whole team for joining in and working so hard to collect as much as we could in each beach clean.
